Lick (Stage Dive, #1)

Lick - Kylie Scott I don't even know where to begin. This is by far the best book I've read this year. At first, I didn't think that I would like David, but the book was so funny that I kept reading, and I had a feeling he was going to redeem himself. By 25% in, I was hooked!Ev heads to Vegas in order to celebrate her twenty-first birthday in style. She wakes up the next morning, hungover, a tattoo on her butt, and married to a famous rock star. Topping things off, she doesn't remember any of it.David Ferris is the guitarist for the band Stage Dive. He's dark, brooding, and he was stone-cold sober when he made the decision to marry Ev. So, of course, he's not happy to learn that she doesn't remember the special night they shared that led to them ending up married. This bring me to...My Favorite Quote:He barked out a laugh. "I've never been in control of my reactions to you. Not once.""Is that why you married me? Because you were helpless against me?""You make me tremble in fear, rest assured." The smile he gave made me tremble and fear had nothing to do with it. "But I married you, Evelyn, because you made sense to me. We make sense. We're a whole lot better together than apart. You notice that?"My thoughts:This book was so amazing. I laughed, I smiled with happy tears in my eyes, and my heart broke as the story progressed. This book is perfect for anyone who believes in the power of love and is a true testament to what it can survive when both people want to make it

Starving Blades (Otherworldly Prophecies, #1)

Starving Blades (Otherworldly Prophecies, #1) - Natasha Ann Wetzel Angel is exactly that, a fallen angel, and he's had a rough six months. He's depressed, has a drinking problem, is angry at his war spirit, and has lost the love of his life. Spurred on by his inability to stare at the four walls of his home any longer, Angel sets out to win back the woman he can't get over, Kira. What he finds sparks my favorite quote in the book:"What the hell Kira, do you live in a mother fuckin' frat house?"You'll understand why I found that so funny when you read this awesome book for yourself. It's not a frat house. It's something more sinister and I hope that this is only the beginning. I need to know the story of all seven of the deadly sins now.

Together in Cyn: 1 (Members Only)

Together in Cyn: 1 (Members Only) - Jennifer Kacey About the story:Cyn has a fantasy, one that she keeps hidden between the pages of her journal. She wants her best friends, fraternal twins Chris and Jared, in her bed. However, she doesn't want to ruin their friendship by admitting her feelings.Chris and Jared have a secret of their own, they run a BDSM house, and after reading Cyn's journal, the pair have decided to come clean. Things get very delicious from there as they bring all Cyn's secret desires to lifeMy Favorite Quote:"I locked my knees and flattened my palms on the warm wood in front of me, wondering if any moisture would remain north of my waist before I fainted."If that's not an awesome description of lust then I don't know what is.My thoughts:This book was a tad out of my usual fare. I love erotica, but I'm not submissive by nature, so I worried that I might not enjoy reading about Cyn's desire to be dominated.I was wrong. This was a fun read with two delicious brothers. Even though they are twins, Chris and Jared are unique in their sexual tastes so there is something for everyone. If you enjoy erotica, check this one out.

Nocturnal Embers

Nocturnal Embers - Helle Gade After reading this author's, "Silent Dreams" I had to check out "Nocturnal Embers". I'm so glad that I did. This book will touch your heart with its in depth picture of pain and life. I don't think you can go wrong with this one.

Double Her Fantasy

Double Her Fantasy - Randi Alexander Description:At a comic book convention, Megan's fantasy man, an actor named Garret McGatlin, asks her to join him for a drink. When she shows up at his hotel room, she learns there are two fantasy men for her because Garret has a sexy brother, Trey. The two men enjoy sharing one woman and Megan is the one they want. A one-night stand turns into a three-way relationship that brings all their issues to the table including Megan's past with a crazed stalker. My Favorite Quote:"Slow down," Garret murmured. "You want this to last don't you?" No. She wanted to come.My thoughts:This book was hot, hot, hot, but it also had heart, and in my opinion that made it the perfect combination.Even during the steamiest scenes, I was waiting for the heartache to set in because everyone was losing themselves in this relationship. Truly a must-read.

The Dead Claim Their Own

The Dead Claim Their Own - Candace L. Bowser Lord Henry Ravenwood enjoys his comfortable life working for the same firm as his father did before him, and taking care of his younger sister, Isabel. All of that changes at the arrival of a letter: "Lady Cordelia Bennington requests the pleasure of your company and introduction to Portsmouth Society as the surviving children of Sarah Mae Bennington Ravenwood."Henry believes the letter to be a hoax, since they were led to believe they had no living relatives, but Isabel's excitement cannot be so easily stamped out. Relenting, Henry sends Isabel ahead to the manor, but what happens from there is a descent into madness that you must read to believe. This book is a spooky mystery that will keep you turning the pages until you learn the truth for yourself. Is Henry crazy or do the dead claim their own?

DEAD[ish]

DEAD[ish] - Naomi Kramer It was okay. I'm not sure I understand how this is going to be a whole series but for a short story is was enjoyable. I say, give it a shot. It took me a few minutes of reading to get used to the odd way Mike spoke and I kept having to flip back in the story because I would forget who POV I was in, but other than that it was good.Linda has been murdered and on the hunt for her body so she hired PI, Trent, to find it. In the meantime, she's spending all her free time tormenting her boyfriend Mike who won't tell her what he did with her body. She's very creative in her revenge.

Dead Ever After: A Sookie Stackhouse Novel (Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood)

Dead Ever After - Charlaine Harris First off, I'm not usually one to complain about price in a book review, but this IS still a product review, so I have to say this book is overpriced for a Kindle version. With that out of the way, I'm so upset with the way this book was written. I absolutely love Charlaine Harris and the Sookie Stackhouse series. I have invested YEARS reading this series and we got the shaft. I wasn't disappointed in who she ended up with, on the contrary, I think Sookie had to end up there. It's how Sookie got there that really screwed the fans. This book starts out in 3rd person, then goes to 1st person, and then suddenly you're back to 3rd person again. It was really annoying and throws you out of the story. The big issue we've all been waiting to see resolved was the relationship between Eric & Sookie. That's all I cared about any longer. I didn't care to read another somebody-is-trying-to-kill-Sookie book. Somebody is always trying to kill Sookie! Who cares? If you're waiting to enjoy the final drama between Eric and Sookie to play out, then get ready for disappointment! It was swept aside in 2 pages as if years were not invested in the whole story of them. From there, the whole book felt forced as if the author was trying to tie a bow on our years of investment so she could move on to the next thing. I feel so cheated.

Dark Spaces

Dark Spaces - A collection of suspenseful short stories - Dionne Lister/Eloise March A collection of horror shorts:Breathe in AutumnAn AwakeningAn Outback LamentSarah's StoryThe PresentationTimmy's EscapeAmyHeart of an AngelClimbing EverestMy favorite was Timmy's escape. It gave me chills. This was a quick read but I don't recommend that you read them before bed time or before going anywhere alone. I will definitely be making sure that my car doorsare locked the next time I go out. I don't think I'll ever get in my car without looking in the backseat first, again.I won this book in a giveaway and I'm so glad that I did. If you enjoy creepy stories then give Dark Spaces a shot.

The Rustler's Daughter

The Rustler's Daughter - M.E. Franco Three sexy brothers. Woo-hoo! I hope we eventually get Lucas and Matthew's story. Okay, with that out of the way, I'm a fast reader and so I was able to finish this story in one sitting.Thank goodness since I couldn't put it down! Hannah Miller's mother passes away leaving her in the care of a father that she did not know was still alive. She has to leave her home behind for a new town, new father, and a brother that she didn't know existed. With only her mother's locket to remind her of her old life, she finds her new place in the world is not a welcoming one. She works hard to earn her father's respect but no matter how hard she tries she only finds scorn. Her father's long-time feud with neighbors and a growing debt lead to a twist in the story. I don't want to say what happens from this point on because I don't want to ruin it for you. I will reiterate that there are THREE sexy brothers. My heart broke for Hannah's tough position and I sighed over the attraction between her and Jackson. Pick yours up and find out for yourself what happen's to the girl known as the Rustler's daughter.

Guns 'N' Tulips (Short Story)

Guns 'N' Tulips (Short Story) - Kristine Cayne About the book:Connor Kavanaugh has lost everything to an undercover gig; his friends, colleagues, and most importantly his fiancee. However, today is finally the day he'll be able to put the case behind him. With a team in place ready to bust the band of bank robbers, the fact that they are at the wrong one is the least of Connors worries. With a group known for leaving dead managers in their wake, it only takes a single glance at this bank's management for Connor to know that it isn't only his reputation on the line.My favorite quote:"A bank vault isn't like your woman's legs; it won't open with just a kiss and a poke."My thoughts:5 stars all the way. You can read in one sitting which I really enjoy. Check this one out.

Sanctum Illusions: Shadow Havens Book 4

Sanctum Illusions: Shadow Havens Book 4 - Edenmary Black Book four of the "Shadow Havens" series is too grand of a showing to sum up in a review, and you can read the description for yourself, so I won't go over that again.--My thoughts:With a style that reminds me of Nalini Singh, I have loved this series since Priana hoped that she wouldn't die in her underwear, in the very first book, and each book gets better and better.--One of my favorite quotes:"Rachel wondered suddenly why all of the supernaturals were so beautiful. Why did they all have such fabulous hair?"As someone who adores paranormal romance, I cracked up at that line.--To sum it up:Imaginative and gripping, Sanctum Illusions, is another winner in the "Shadow Havens" series. If you've missed the first three books, I highly recommend picking them up, but this book will stand alone if you decided to start here. Go get yours now.

Lover at Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood Series #11)

Lover at Last - J.R. Ward Best. Black Dagger Brotherhood. EVER!! I laughed, I cried, and yes I cringed. Okay, I admit it, I'm a sucker for a good love story and Qhuinn and Blay LOVE EACH OTHER!! They always have and always will. I love all the drama and side stories, as well. I love the connection going on between Layla and XCOR. I can see that it's going to be a tough, heart wrenching upheaval that is going to suck me in. I wanted Assail and Sola to hook-up so bad. Honestly, there are so many side characters in this one that I couldn't tell whose story will be next. My Favorite Quotes: "He marveled at how someone you knew everything about, who lived down the hall, who ate with you and worked with you and slept at the same time you did...could become a stranger.""Blay got F@#ked clean off the bed.""You are in my dreams," he murmured. "Every day, you haunt me. Your scent, your voice, your eyes...this mouth."My thoughts that are purely my opinion:From a traditional publishing stand point, what J.R. Ward has done here is huge and deserves recognition. She took people who would never read a GLTB book and had them begging for it. Not only that, she did it while keeping it in the Paranormal Romance genre as if daring them to do otherwise. I respect the heck out of her for this book. It took courage and it was beautiful.
